EVB – FREEWAY SERVICE PATROL
CONTRACTOR FOR OVER 18 YEARS

EVB currently provides Freeway Service Patrol Services (FSP) in the greater Philadelphia metropolitan area. The purpose of these programs are to improve highway safety on heavily traveled sections of our regions freeways and expressways, by reducing the time required to remove incidents that can disrupt traffic flow and cause traffic congestion during peak travel periods.

Whether it’s a disabled vehicle, debris on the road, or a minor accident, the objective of the FSP is to increase safety for stranded motorists, while removing the incident from the roadway as quickly as possible to avoid impacting other motorists. Since FSP are often the first to arrive on scene, EVB freeway service patrol operators are certified in first-aid and CPR. They also receive special training in towing, recovery, roadside assistance and highway safety to ensure they are prepared to quickly remove minor incidents from the roadway.

The FSP also assists other public safety organizations including, dot, law enforcement, fire, emergency medical services and towing to rapidly and safely address more complex traffic incidents.

EVB has provided Freeway Service Patrol Services to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) since 2000. In addition, we are a contracted Authorized Service Provider for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission responsible for incident management and quick clearance.
